Employee Scholar Program We support and pursue lifelong learning to expand our knowledge and capabilities and to engage with the world outside UTC.
When we say we want to have the best-educated workforce on the planet, we mean business. The Employee Scholar Program (ESP) is one of the most comprehensive, company-sponsored, employee education programs in the world. The program provides employees the resources to stay current in their chosen field or enable new career opportunities and includes the following benefits:
- UTC pays for tuition, academic fees and books at approved educational institutions
- All full-time employees are eligible to apply after one year of service
- Payments are made directly to the educational institution to minimize out-of-pocket costs
- Employees can obtain a degree in any field, whether or not it is related to their job
- Partner with universities to deliver programs at our locations to provide work-life flexibility
- Eligible employees can receive up to three hours of paid time- off to study per week
UTC has invested more than US$878 million to further our employees' formal education. Since 1996, more than 29,000 degrees have been earned by employees in over 50 countries. However, ESP is more than just a story based on numbers. It is about the investment that UTC makes in its people as a way of attracting and retaining a motivated and engaged workforce. Currently, there are over 15,000 employees participating in ESP.

Gym
Our gym is a place where our employees rest and relax. Fully equipped, our employees can sweat it out to keep trim and fit. This is one avenue to maintain a fully energized workforce. Having our own gym is an employee convenience as employees do not need to make an extra trip to fitness clubs. They simply have to drop by our gym, do their work out before they call it a day and head home to rest.
Some light activities like Yoga and Line Dancing are also held in the gym. Participation rate has always been overwhelming. With these activities in the pipeline, our employees can maintain good work life balance. Happy employees make efficient employees!
Wellness Hamilton Sundstrand Lifestyle Wellness Program has a variety of services, activities and health screenings encouraging our employees to take charge of their health and well- being. Locations such as San Diego, Rockford and Windsor Locks have 24/7 onsite fitness centers which are the centerpiece of their location. We work in conjunction with our EH&S department to offer weight management, cholesterol screening, blood pressure and general health management. Employee assistance such as physical therapy is also available.
